Train Children Chess Academy is an enrichment program dedicated to promoting education, building character, and developing life skills in children of all ages.  For many years, our experienced instructors have taught with genuine care for every child.  We strive to do our best in helping each student achieve success and have an awesome experience in our program.  

Chess is a fun and interesting game that can assist youngsters in developing critical thinking skills provided it is taught in the right way.  Train Children Chess Academy provides chess lessons that are crafted to help propel all students, whether your child is new to chess or trying to climb the chess rating levels. Our classes are guaranteed to meet their unique needs. We create positive experiences where kids are inspired to learn, play and enjoy their time in our program.

Hello, my name is Joshua Huihui and I’m the founder here at Train Children Chess Academy. For many years, I’ve been teaching chess to thousands of children at numerous school districts across Los Angeles and Orange County.

I have also been involved with several non-profit organizations, churches, and ministries to help volunteer with mentorship for at-risk youth. I’ve always had a heart for children, which is why I’ve been working with them for the last 17 years as a chess teacher and mentor.

In 2004, I started working with an after-school chess program while I was attending college. After just a few years, I was offered a full-time position as a chess teacher that I couldn’t refuse. Making children laugh, helping them improve at chess, and building confidence in a child’s life was my job. I knew then that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Seeing the great benefits that chess had on my students sparked a vision in me to someday start my own chess program. Years later through hard work, patience and persistence I founded Train Children Chess Academy. It is my goal to continue to teach the game of chess to children and help them use what they learn to develop life skills that will benefit them now and in the future.
